Clive Anderson to host the 2011 Jersey Enterprise Awards
The award-winning presenter and comedy writer Clive Anderson will host the 2011 Jersey Enterprise Awards on the 2nd March.
Clive Anderson began his career as a barrister and took his first steps into comedy as a scriptwriter for shows like Not The Nine O’Clock News and Alias Smith & Jones and was the first stand-up act to appear at The Comedy Store. As the face of Channel 4’s Whose Line Is It Anyway, Clive Anderson won two British Comedy Awards and in 1991 and went on to host his own TV chat shows, where he became famous for his barbed questions and quick retorts. As well as fronting several other TV and radio programmes from game shows to travel documentaries, Clive has appeared on Have I Got News For You, QI and Mock the Week.
An unflappable presenter with a razor-sharp wit, Clive Anderson has hosted award ceremonies for BAFTA, the London Evening Standard Film Awards and the Olivier Awards to name just a few, as well as fronting live TV coverage of events ranging from the Proms to politics.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Enterprise Awards, Clive Anderson will be hosting the whole Awards event, from his welcome speech to congratulating the winners, and entertaining the audience through the evening with anecdotes from his career in comedy.
Senator Alan Maclean Minister for Economic Development said: ‘I am delighted that we have been able to secure such a high-profile personality to host this year’s Jersey Enterprise Awards, and thank the Garenne Group for their generous sponsorship that has made it possible. Clive Anderson is well known as a quick-witted, entertaining presenter and I am looking forward to a memorable Awards evening’.
This year’s awards ceremony will begin with a champagne reception sponsored by Vestra Wealth, followed by a three-course dinner and the Awards ceremony in the Queens Hall, Fort Regent. The Jersey Enterprise Awards are designed to acknowledge and celebrate the success of businesses and entrepreneurial individuals within Jersey’s community. Nine awards will be presented to the people and businesses that stood out in 2011, including the NatWest Small Business Award, Altis Medium Business Award, Credit Suisse Large Business Award, Indigo Lighthouse Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Jersey Electricity Environmental Award, Ogier Training and Development Award, Condor Ferries Community Award, Guiton Group Ambassador of the Year and the JT Overall Business of the Year.
There are a few tickets remaining for the Jersey Enterprise Awards gala dinner on Friday 2nd March. Tables of twelve are available for £960, and individual tickets are £80. To book a table or for more information contact Christine Holmes, email cholmes@profilepm.com
